When I go to delete a part from my assembly it freezes the program until I press escape key. How do I get rid of unwanted parts?

• It does it in all my assembly's.
• I am running Solidworks 2015 sp0 x64
• Windows 7 pro x64
• Both delete key and using the menu button freezes the program.

Please help. Thank you so much in advance.
