I have an assembly which consists of an overmolded busbar (plastic overmold, c11000 busbar). The busbar is going to be sheared by a piston. Will the stresses on the plastic overmold be accurate if the stresses in the busbar show failure (will the stresses be higher in the overmold due to excessive bending of the busbar in the model) (I am using the force required to shear the busbar using a nonlinear static study/plasticity von mises for the parts)?
