Hej,
I am looking for a new PC and as a mechanical engineering / aerospace engineering student I work with SolidWorks and some other CAD/CAM software and I hope to find a part time job, also doing some CAD/CAM work. Now I am doubting between a Intel i5 750 or a AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE. The AMD machine is a bit cheaper, but I was wondering if there is a big gap in performance with CAD/CAM/SolidWorks programs, as I can't find any benchmarks. Normally the i5 is about as fast as the Phenom, only in video editing the i5 is significantly faster. But how about CAD/CAM? Any experience here?
