Hey guys,
I figure since I was asked about what "I would want in/for a computer to run SolidWorks" I would throw it out there for a general discussion. I'm not a particularly computer tech savvy guy or up on all the latest releases. But will be upgrading to 2010 when the disc gets here and very likely when a new computer gets here.
I am willing to bet some of you have some suggestions that you've learned from experience that would be IDEAL to have. So share away, and hopefully everyone can get a little out of this either right now or for future reference.
Solidworks suggests the following for 2010:
2GB RAM
A certified OpenGL workstation graphics card and driver.
Intel® or AMD® processors
Current System:
Pentium D 3.0Ghz, 4GB RAM, Windows XP Pro - SP3, ATI FIRE GL V7100
I think the system seems way too chunky for the specs, personally.
You can rattle off one thing from OS, memory, graphics to speed of the processor or maybe a "good prepackaged deal" if you want - have fun with it.
