Hi everybody,
I'm trying to trim this two surface bodies mutually and I'm getting an extrange result that I don't know what is it based on.
As you can imagine I want to trim both bodies (the cylinder and the box) to knit them together and thicken the resultant body.
I'm getting a really surprising result with the trim feature, so it's not producing a symmetrical result while both bodies are symmetric and the knitted one should be too because of their placement.
Take a look at this:
As you can see, after the first selection (top of the box), I select the box-inside part of the cylinder and then the feature is selecting an extra surface at the right side (the strip eye-like surface).
That is producing a gap only at this side of the geometry, not at left...
If I try to do a double standard trim I can do the first (just like the mutual mode) but I'm getting the error "Cannot partition surface, the trim tool and target do not intersect" when it's time to do the second one. The cylinder is tangent to the bottom's horizontal rectangle. This shouldn't be a problem, should it?
If I import the same surface bodies modeled out of Solidworks I can do the trimming with no trouble... why?
Thank you so so much!!
