Ok, Weldment/Sheet metal gurus. Here’s one for you to chew on. See attached model. I have several issues I’d like comments on. I know other ways to do this, but I’m not excited about any of them for various reasons. I’m soliciting input on the following:
- I’ve got right and left hand versions of this part, using configurations. I got both working, but as you switch between configurations, the suppressed Sheet-Metal__ and Flat-Pattern__ features multiply rapidly, presumably having something to do with my use of the move-copy feature to create a second bent perforated tab. Can you suggest a cleaner way to do this?
- I’d like to create a drawing – just showing the left-hand version (although the rh version is needed for the assembly model), complete with individual item views (generally I make these using Relative View, specifying the body I want to detail – no problem so far), AND flat patterns (here’s where I’m running into trouble. I have been able to do this when there is one sheet metal piece, but it seems not to be liking it with this model that has 2; 3 if you count multiples). Suggestions?
- I haven’t upgraded to SW2012, and can’t on this project, but if anyone wants to experiment and/or comment on how it handles these issues, feel free.
Have fun!
