I am trying to create a drawing view that shows bolt/hole locations in revolved assemblies. The bolt/hole locations can be at different diameters and can be "clocked" differently with varying quantities of holes per bolt/hole circle.
I attached screenshots of an example assembly made from 3 revolved pieces mated together, each with different bolt patterns.
assem1 (model) - shows a model view of the assembly.
assem1 (problem) - shows one of my attempts, this fails because the non-radial line that joins 2 other radial lines adds to section length making the cross section seem wider than it is. I tried making the line a construction line, deleting it, and replacing it with a concentric arc and they all failed.
assem1 (explode2), assem1 (explode) & assem1 (hack) - shows a hacked solution made from creating 3 partial section views, breaking their alignments, rotating them, aligning them by origins, and moving them into position.
I hope there is a more elegant solution to my hack.
Thanks in advance for any help on my first post.
