More Power More Capability From Existing Command Enhancements

Dear All,

The existing command set in Solidworks Sheetmetal are good only they need to become more powerful.

1. Take the Rip for instance : How often do you encounter geometry to complex in the region.

The rip really needs to. rip anything  cylindrical linear edge interfaces etc.

2. The inability of Solidworks to understand its own geometry is indeed baffling to say the least.

A valid sheetmetal body when exported to another file and reconverted to sheetmetal quite often will

not flatten .  This really needs to be addressed and improved.

3. The Convert to Sheetmetal command needs to include cylindrical surfaces as input also.

4. Edge Flanges should be capable of being modeled on adjacent edges with zero gap and without being merged.

5. Edge Flanges on adjacent edges should also have an exact match option . That is matching of edgeflanges

on adjacent sides with different heights.

6. The flattening code should flatten anything without error right or wrong . A parametric 2D sketch feature is required as an output.

7. Single shot export of all flat patterns within a  single part file - Very Very Important. This will boost productivity enormously .

These are a few of my favourite enhancement requests that Solidworks must seriously consider incorporatiing to take

Sheetmetal to the next level.

IN PLAIN AND SIMPLE TERMS :

MORE POWER  TRANSLATES INTO MORE CAPABILITY  WITHOUT EXPANDING THE COMMAND SET .
