I have a plastic part using a material with different shrinkage variables in X, Y, and Z.
I tried to construct the part applying the different scale factors. The part is dimensioned from the orgin and the 3 main planes that come with the part file. The centroid (center of mass) is not the same. It just did not look right to me.
I thought about re-dimensioning the part about the center of mass. Ofcourse I dont know where the center of mass is when I start. I could attempt to calculate that before I start. That seemed like allot of work.
So I used the scale feature about the centroid, the center of mass using the 3 different values. Which looks good.
The problem is when I dimension the steel most everything is splines. It is very difficult to get the toolroom numbers for radii and angles.
I wanted to know how everyone else is handling this situation ?
Thank You
Bill
