Meshing issues with thin Epoxy layer in flow simulation

Hi Guys,

I have a thin epoxy layer between copper and aluminium solid components (epoxy layer simulations with thickness of 1mm, 2mm and 3mm). The copper has a volumn heat source of 100W. In terms of the flow simulation I have a volumn temperature goal plot for the copper component and a surface temperature goal plot for the aluminium component at surface epoxed to air. When I perform the meshing (at level 3) I set the min air gap to be 1mm and the thin wall thickness to be 0.5mm (I have tried it at 0.1mm also) but it keeps "missing" the epoxy layer. The mesh can't seem to localise at the epoxy layer. Should I be performing a localised mesh for the layer?

When I run the same simulation with air in between the copper and aluminium component, the mesh works perfectly and I get the expected results. But when replacing the air gap with a solid, it can't seem to mesh correctly.

Any assiatance would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Regards,

Philip
