Hello,
I am trying to conduct a finite element analysis for a wing structure I am testing. The structure is made of a solid network of spars + ribs and is covered with a thin surface. I am trying to create a mesh that will accurately show forces being transmitted through the skin and into the structure.
So far, I have not been able to get forces to transfer into the structure based on the results I am seeing with the stress contour. I believe this is because the nodes between the skin and structure are not correctly set up to be continuous and transfer the loads accurately. I have tried addressing this with a "global interaction" where any surfaces within a certain tolerance would be joined together. I have not gotten this to work yet.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated!!!
