I used solidworks simulation software to solve this problem. I was wondering does anyone know what maths/formulas that could be used to solve this
The aim is to reduce the material costs associated with fabricating a Howe Truss structure (see attached image ) using Aluminium, which could withstand the given applied forces with a maximum displacement of 3mm. The yield strength of the aluminium is 27.57 N/mm^2.
The goal is to find the smallest cross sectional area that can support the forces.
I know it’s a long shot, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, in finding the correct equations to use it would be a great help.
Thanks
