Perhaps like many, while having a genuine interest in the well-being of the Madison Area SolidWorks community, I have been unable to support the scheduled meetings. The MASWUG 'Recent Content' list certainly indicates that sincere efforts to promote the User Group have been put forth, but evidently not supported as well as might have been anticipated.
I would like to suggest that perhaps we could 'regroup' as it were, and avail ourselves of the benefits that this discussion forum could present. This would enable us to keep actively involved in promoting, encouraging, and supporting the User Group within our area. Additionally, the ease of an online forum makes this opportunity readily accessible to all.
Of course there are advantages to meeting in person, however this discussion forum provides a very real alternative or option that seemingly has tremendous potential. The variety of relevant and local discussion topics is unlimited, and rather than putting the burden of responsibility upon one or a few shoulders, anyone within the User Group could contribute as freely motivated to do so.
Do we have questions how others are doing things here locally? Do we have some recently discovered simple tips that could be shared with an attached image or document? Perhaps we could use polls to find out how others are managing their data, and are they satisfied? Does the company we work for have a job opening that could be listed in the General / Job Postings forum? ... etc.
We certainly should not overlook or diminish the fine efforts put forth to promote meetings or the forum questions that have been contributed in the past. However there seems to be a great measure of potential to add a fresh approach to our Madison Area User Group if we were to be actively involved in this forum. Does anyone else see an interest in making a concerted effort to support the discussion forum specific to MASWUG?
Best Regards
