Hello all.
My question pertains to lofting. I want to loft between multiple sketches on different planes, but using a "ruled" solid instead of a "smooth" solid. Unfortunately I am not sure of the terminology in Solidworks and the terms come from the AutoCAD 3D loft function. Hopefully the images below can explain.
The smooth solid is achieved by simply adding all the profiles at once. The ruled solid is very tedious the way I do it now, as I have to create a single loft at a time and then combine them later. For 4 sections it is not too much of a problem but it becomes annoying when you have to repeat this 35 times. I am aware that there is still curvature on the theoretically "ruled" solid, but this is not of concern.
Does anyone know of a way to achieve the ruled solid without the laborious method I described?
Using Solidworks 2009 on my computer.
Regards
Dario
