Imagine this; you are creating a set of manufacturing drawings for a Machine (main assembly) that has several subassemblies that are made up of variety of parts including sheetmetal solid bodies and weldments.
Sheet 1: has an isometric view of the complete main assembly and an exploded view of the main assembly segregated into subassemblies and an accompanying BOM and balloons listing the subassemblies.
Sheet 2: Has the first subassembly in an exploded view with balloons and BOM listing the parts.
Sheets 3,4,5, and so on: has the individual parts 1 on each sheet of the preceding subassembly which has its specific sheet format relative to what type of part it is and these sheet formats have links to custom properties that auto populate from the part file custom properties.
My Question; Is there a way to set up a note in the title block of the part drawing sheet format that links to the name of the subassembly that the part came from.
So that when you print all of the sheets you can look at the title block of a part sheet and see which subassembly it belongs to.
Yes I can do that manually for each sheet but I’m on part sheet 85 of the 4th sub assembly. so automatic would be good.
