I have a custom material in my materials library for some foam. Within that foam material, I have a custom property with the property name 'Description', and in the Description field, I have the type of foam that it is calling out so that my vendors know what type of foam to use based on the material that I have. (I also have the same info on the "Properties' Tab/'Description' of the material as well in hopes that I could maybe get that to work as well).
What I want to do, is in the file properties, have it link to the custom material property description that I created so that when I go to create a drawing of the custom foam, a Note is then linked to the custom property and will auto populate the description that I placed on the material. I would like this to be at the template level, and as you can see from the pictures below, there are ~30 foam materials and the field would need to be updated if the user decided to change what foam was being used at the part level. I might be asking for too much here, but to get it to work for multibodies with different materials would be great too.
I was able to get the material to populate on the custom property by using the command "SW-Material@Part1.SLDPRT", but I am not sure how to link to a sub property of the material.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
David
