I am trying to find an easy way to have solidworks tell me the max cross-sectional area of a part.

I work for a forging company and we use this information to determine the correct size billet to forge the part from.

The only way I currently know of to do this is to manually step thru a cross-sectional view and measure at each slice.

I am looking for an automated way to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
