I am attempting to do a nonlinear model of a silicone rubber gasket between two polycarbonate parts. I have used the Tutorial, Nonlinear Contact Analysis of an O-Ring, for guidance as it is very similar. The difference is that the silicone gasket is a U-shape and there is an open space. I am hoping if someone can tell me if I am wasting my time or if it is possible?  I have attached the parts and assembly below.

I have tried to make it simpler to start with but I am unsure if the it wot work due to the open area.
