SOLIDWORKS randomly stopped working for me after being completely fine a week or two ago, and now I can’t get it to reinstall at all. It won’t open, repair fails, and uninstalling was partially blocked by Windows Installer errors (Error 1722 and internal installer failures related to SWMarketplaceAddin.dll and Document Manager registration). I forced removal of what I could, deleted leftover SOLIDWORKS/Dassault folders from Program Files, ProgramData, and AppData, reset Windows Installer with msiexec, and tried reinstalling from a ZIP extracted to C:\\SWInstall while running setup as administrator. The installer still throws internal errors, and system repair attempts like sfc /scannow and DISM didn’t fix it (DISM even froze around 62%). At this point I’m stuck where SOLIDWORKS was working recently but now won’t reinstall no matter what I try.
What I’ve already tried:
- Full uninstall + forced removal (Using Microsoft Troubleshooter)
- Deleted all leftover SOLIDWORKS/Dassault folders
- Reset Windows Installer
- Installed Visual C++ and .NET prerequisites
- Ran SFC and DISM repairs
- Ran installer as admin with antivirus off
Trying to figure out what could still be blocking the installer or if this is a known issue with this version.
