Is this a bug or intentional?

When you insert a part into a part file you should be able to right click on the part and view the external references of the inserted part, including a drop down list of the configurations of the inserted part. However if the inserted part only has one configuration then the drop down list is not populated, if you add a second config to the inserted part then both configs show up on the list.

This is an issue since in my specific issue the inserted part model has a generic name and the part number is the config name, which you have no way of finding in the Part file that contains the inserted part.
