I've got a few Part and Assembly files I'm trying to move to a new PC. Some had been put in Documents by default and hence OneDrive. So I create a non-OneDrive file in Desktop, put files in that and no OneDrive showing in file path name. Copy files to thumbdrive. No OneDrive showing. :) Uninstall OneDrive on new PC, do Search for all OneDrive on new PC and delete all. Restart, etc. Plug thumbdrive into new PC. No OneDrive showing. Copy files to new folder in Desktop with no OneDrive showing. Try to open Asm and SW balks and says "can't locate" showing file path with OneDrive and starts 8 second countdown, but then does open the Asm and everything seems OK and SW works and can work on Asm. Change Asm name with no OneDrive showing, close and re-open. SW balks, says "can't locate" but does open after countdown. Do "pack and go" of Asm with new prefix for Asm and all Parts. Look at files with properties > general>location and no OneDrive showing in path. Close files and re-open....same balking, countdown showing OneDrive in path, but does open and SW works and can work on Asm/Parts. Gives messages about Opening Referenced Documents, etc.
Make new test Part on new PC and save in same folder in Desktop. Close and re-open. No balking by SW and no OneDrive showing.
While SW is able to find and open these transferred files after saying it can't due to OneDrive virus, why does it keep doing this? Shouldn't a Pack & Go with new prefixes on all files and no OneDrive showing give all new Parts and Asm as if they'd been created from scratch like my successful Test Part, and lose any OneDrive virus, and open cleanly?
When I transferred text files in Libre that had OneDrive in path on old PC to new PC via thumbdrive they opened in new PC cleanly with no OneDrive showing.
