Hi All,

I tried lot of online search but was not able to find how to calculate torsional strength for a threaded rod. I have a threaded rod with 5/16 - 24 fine thread (internal and external) but was not sure about the strength / stress the thread can hold based on the material, thickness, type of thread and other factor.

I prefer the rod snaps rather than threads strip out. so please some one guide me in calculating the torsional strength for threads.
