How does the system actually make drawings?

I've paid the small amount to have the privilage of using the solidworks 3dexperience makers edition and so far everything seems to be about using they system as a social media platform. I have no interest in sharing stuff with anyone or saving to the cloud or crap that has nothing to do with the actual cad program I thought this was. As an autocad user since the 90s this is all new and despite claims by the company there is absolutely nothing intuitive about it unless you designed it.  I know a lot of folks who have figured out Solidworks and done very well but its a tough transition. I'd hoped this makers version might make it possible but thinking maybe it just pushes folks who don't do this for a living away....

So I guess the question here is where do you find actual information on how the cad system works for making drawings in 2 or 3 D?
