I get curious from time to time on how a company does anything a certain way. Since I started here we've used an equation based pattern for our parts that basically stipulates that if a hole is "X" distance from the edge that the pattern will run to the end of the part and the last hole will be the exact same distance as the starting hole. That and the pattern can't have more 8" of space.
That said, this has worked very well for us as we use this as a template to build our design table driven sub-assemblies. So as we add parts to the sub-assembly our holes always line up.
Now my concern comes into play as our assemblies get bigger and more complex the time to rebuild has obviously grown. I've added a part as an example of the quation we use. I'm just curious if there is a better way to handle the pattern with the same result.
Thanks
