Hi
Thanks Josh for your answer.
pls see https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/25502 for my original question.
Ive got my sketch dims using formulars and values for the location of the center of mass working great.
Thats gona make life alot easier.
Now to take it up a level.
I have a weldment with a lifting lug attached at a point that SW calculates based on the COM, and it moves as I add or subtract bodies.
SO now Ive added multipule configurations into the part. No problem if you want the lug to be specific for each config, but I dont.
I want the lug to stay in a consistant location across several configurations based on 1 specific config, which may change dimensionally.
To explain further, I have a weldment, with several sub-weldments. The lug is to have its position calculated based on the complete weldment.
I dont want it to move as I display various groups of subweldments in a drawing. Im using configs to display the various groups of subweldments.
So I guess it would be nice to add a string to the equation which would specify to config used when it is calculated?
