How do I edit drawing templates?

I can start a new drawing by selecting the desired template, but the template has to be updated.  It is missing the new company name and revision table.

I tried saving the drawing template as .slddrt file, but it still treats it like a drawing and adds the .SLDDRW file extension.  And the file icon is blank (not SolidWorks).

Is this a permission issue?

Please advise.
