Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of installing SW2017 and I noticed something that strikes me as abnormal and weird: every default SW material database has a duplicate. Have a look at the screenshot.
As you can see, the ones in the green rectangle are what I am used to: the default materials provided with SW. These material properties cannot be edited. So far so good.
What is weird are the ones in the red rectangle which are carbon copies of the default databases, but with the same icon as custom databases. In these databases material properties can be edited.
I contacted my VAR which quickly closed my ticket saying it was normal SW behavior. I double checked to make sure and in SW 2012 (yes, which is old) the materials databases weren't being duplicated like this.
I specifically like that the material properties cannot be edited - that way I know that when a colleague sets a material from the default SW database, the properties are reliable. Also I hate having redundant information which is definitely the case here.
Any advice?
