I am using solidworks 2013 and im the engineer and designer and also project lead

My manufacturer is using Pro E and will be creating the mold for my parts.  Prior to design finalization we spend time tweaking the design for ease of molding and we share and exchange files. 

I would like to know if there is a common file format or a method for me share a file with my manufacturer that he can modify and i can update or change so we can work on only one set of models.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
