I'm having a problem with Component References. If I tag a part with a Component Reference, it shows up in the drawing balloon correctly.

If I try to tag a sub-assembly, at the sub-assembly level, it doesn't show up correctly.

As per attached images, if I tag the switch assembly (the complete 3 part sub-assembly) nothing comes through to  the drawing. If I tag the adapter part of the sub-assembly, then that tag does show in the drawing.

I have searched and seen a comment that Component References don't work with assemblies but i don't that completely true.

Does anyone have any guidance?
