Creating a custom texture

This is really a follow up thread from a previously answered issue here https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/30985 in which i had problems creating a punched sheet. Due to the fact that it seems to take massive computing power using Solidworks to produce a punched sheet to the spec i require and this would in turn make my main assemblies unusable i have opted to have a representation of the punching in the form of a texture.

My question is whats the easiest way to produce a texture that works much like the chain link fence, once applied you can see through the represented holes?

I don't really want to have to create a jpeg for every punch size and pitching, then have to photoshop it in some way to make the holes transparent and save it as a gif if thats the way to do it.

Is there a quick and easy way to produce the textures using the actual punched sheet by making a snapshot of it? Or maybe another way that someone has come up with.

As usual i look forward to your answers.

Andy
