Configuration

Hello again, ye' Solidworks gurus

I made a 2D sketch for aluminum extrusion and polycarbonate. Runthe weldments for the frame, extrude for the polycarbonate panel.

Then I made three configurations of this door. All the same height, three different widths, called "Left door", "Right doors", "Frontdoors" in that part.

..... That was my part (.SLDPRT)

Then I made an assembly of that part and added the hinges, endcaps, handle, etc.
...... That was my door assembly

Then I dragged the door assembly into my project assembly, addedthe appropriate mates. OK...... THEN I went into the project'sfeature tree, to the door part (.SLDPRT) and set the configurationto the appropriate one for the location of each particular door.

I smiled, cause it worked! Awesome..... So I save the drawing, godo something else, open this project again, and WHAT THE!?!?!? Allthe doors are "Left doors". What gives? I tried to set eachconfiguration several more times. Once I reopen the project, allthe doors are set to one configuration. I think it's always theLAST configuration I selected.

Is there a way to make this work? Or do I have to mate the caps, handles and hinges in the final project? a.k.a bring the door PARTinto the project, set the configuration there and add thecomponents?SolidworksAssemblies
