One of the claimed main advantages of being able to work on the 'cloud' is greater processing speed. Current developments in CPU technology is in using multiple cores rather than faster chips. The ability of SolidWorks to use all of those cores is limited. This limitation is one of the main reasons users limit the number of cores being used on their machines. As the number of cores used on workstations increases and SoldiWorks utilises the extra processor capability the claimed speed advanatage of working on the 'cloud' seems minimal or unlikely. What do you think?
