Hi everyone,
Where I work, we have multiple aluminum extrusions that are sent to us at a certain length, with no holes, cutouts etc. included in the raw material aluminum extrusions. I want to create these aluminum extrusions as a part in solidworks, where I configure this part for extrusion lengths.
I then want to take this extrusion and insert it into an assembly, where I will add all the holes that are needed in the extrusion using Assembly Features(Hole Wizard) to get my final fabricated piece. I want to make this an assembly so that I can show the raw material extrusion in a Bill of Material for my finalized piece.
I am now trying to create an opposite hand version of this assembly, which is just my aluminum extrusion now with holes in it, and create it using a derived configuration.
I am able to get the profile of the extrusion to mirror however the assembly features, my Hole Wizard holes, are not mirroring along with it.
Has anyone ever done anything like this before? If so, have you found any solutions on getting the assembly features to mirror along with the assembly?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
It's greatly appreciated,
Andy
