This morning I went looking for Solidworks Explorer. Oh, it's been gone for a while, 'replaced' by "File Utilities", which are in a Windows context menu. ...with reduced functionality.
I have a new version of a large assembly from a client. They number most parts starting with the job number, e.g. 12345-Main_assy.SDLASM, 12345-Big_part_one.SLDPRT, etc... [technically these parts are from a Parasolid import]. I still have the previous version and want to have both models to compare and see what are the differences. The client has kept the same project number, as to them it's a revision. But it means a lot of parts have the same name between the versions.
Is there still a way to bulk rename the files of the new assembly? I would rename "12345-*" to "12345b-*", but of course need to keep references in the new Solidworks assembly and sub-assemblies.
