Hello,
I have a question about Simulation > Connections > Bolt > Standard or countersunk bolt with nut in SOLIDWORKS.
In my case, the fastener is not a standard through-bolt. I have a stud/set screw where:
- one end is threaded into a tapped hole in the base part,
- and the other end is tightened with a nut on the upper half-flange.
So it is not a typical bolt with a head on one side and a nut on the other.
My question is: is the “standard or countersunk bolt with nut” connector appropriate for this type of joint, or is there a better way to model a stud threaded on one side and tightened with a nut on the other?
I would also like to apply preload based on tightening torque, but I am not sure how this should be defined when one end is threaded directly into the part.
Has anyone modeled a similar stud + nut connection in SOLIDWORKS Simulation?
Thanks in advance.
