Well....
I have read most of the threads for routing, fitting to fitting route, assembly files, mate reference, weld gaps etc which were quite enlightening....
Nevrtheless, few to many things and procedures seam to change from version to version (virtual parts, mating to fittings etc), so i think it would be nice to collect the knowledge from the experts in one discussion concerning routing procedures in SW2010. And i dont mean prefferable but tested procedures that work with no crashed, misallignments of routes etc.
I believe that what most people care about routing is stability, paremetric feature (not have to change everything if you have to take of a valve) and fast desinging.
So, please check the following and answer if possible cause i am having a hard time in certain areas with routing (i am concerned mostly to piping).
- What is the best way to implement fitting to fitting connection? (mate references, remove pipe or else..)
- Are there differences implementing question 1 between different fittings (e.g. eccentric reducer, tee, valve as a part file, valve as a subassembly file)
- How do i design eccentric reducers to work on both directions (Lana proposed a solution for the big inlet of the reducer which seams to work for me as well. But the other side or different orientation it doesnt seam to work.)
- Do we try to make all fittings sketch driven from the route sketch for peaceful routing and less problems?
