Hi,

I have an assembly with a large amount of sub-assemblies that I'm trying to create annotated drawings for.

I'm familiar with the 'configuration properties' show/hide/promote child display, and it works as I expected. However, when I'm ballooning the parts of the dissolved sub assembly, it doesn't link to the item number.

Here are instructions on recreating my problem:

-make assembly of 1 or more parts

-dissolve assembly with the promote child

-make drawing

-add BOM (Top level, the other 2 work fine for some reason)

-start ballooning the parts

The parts show up on the BOM with item numbers, but I can't seem to balloon them (they only show up as asterisks). Using the indented BOM is unacceptable due to the large numbers of sub-assemblies that would be expanded.

I am currently using version 2010

How do I make the balloons link to the item number of promoted parts using the top level BOM
