Whenever I click a face, a window / bubble / dialog pops up that lets me change the face's color or texture.  See SS.

How do I turn these automatic windows off?

It didn't used to do this. I must have accidentally clicked some option somewhere when I was wrestling with face colors.  When one of those windows is open, the S key stops working.
