Auto-Recover not triggering after crash despite proper settings (SolidWorks 2025)

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the Auto-Recover feature in SolidWorks 2025. Although I have confirmed that the Auto-Recover settings are enabled correctly (e.g., auto-save every 5 minutes, valid local folder specified), the recovery prompt does not appear after a crash.

Interestingly, the system does create a file like AutoRecover of .sldprt.swar in the designated folder, so the auto-recover process itself seems to be working in the background. However, after restarting SolidWorks following a crash, no recovery dialog appears, and I have to manually rename and recover the file.

This seems to defeat the purpose of Auto-Recover. Is this a known issue in 2025? Are there any conditions that prevent the recovery window from being shown even when .swar files are present?

Any advice or clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
