Hi,
I have an oddly-shaped structural tube assembly that I want analyze to see the stress/deflection under its own weight. The structure's mass is made up of a steel structure, covered in large fiber glass panels. I do not want the panels in my FEA model since they have little structural significance, but I do want to capture their mass and CG effect.
Is there a good way (perhaps with remote masses) I can simulate the effect the panels have on mass and CG without having them present in the model? If I use a remote mass, I am not sure what face to connect to the actual CG with the remote mass's "rigid beams". I could apply panel loads on the individual beams but this would be a tedious and error-prone task as each one will be different due their odd shape.
Thanks!
