We would like to add Bills of Materials to some existing AUTOCAD drawings and scanned documents in our EPDM vault .  The goal is that these boms will be the master and will be exported  to our ERP system via xml when revisions occur.  Is there a good way create these boms?

We initially wanted to paste the components as reference, but we sometimes have configured SolidWorks parts or assemblies as components.  Pasting the configured part or assembly does not let you pick which configuration is needed, so that method will not work.

I looked into item boms and named boms a little, but the documentation was thin.  I do not think these BOM types do what we need.

Any suggestions?
