I am trying to design a part the has a coil going along a 167cm core with a hook bend on one end. The coil will have a wire .005X.010, a pitch of .0105 and an OD of .0314. I have tried to use a helix, but it only allows 100 turns. I have created a discrete length of the coil from the helix and mirrored it down the length of the staright section, but I ended up with 70+ bodies that would not merge. I have also tried to use a 3D sketch with parametric equations, but the number of turns has the system so bogged down it is just short of crashing each time i click anywhere. Any ideas how I might be able to create this coil?
