What to Use: Viscoelasticity or Creep in my Simulation?

Hi Simulia Community,

Abaqus VISCOELASTICITY  Material Modeling CREEP POLYMERS

I am performing some Thermo-mechanical Fatigue simulations in which I have a dwell time of an hour, both at the lower and upper limits of the temperature.

I have the creep data for my material (PPSGF40) with respect to time.

Using this data, I modelled both viscoelasticity and creep (Time Hardening Law) for my material.

When I used the viscoelastic material, the creep strains in the specimen were very low as compared to when I used creep as a material parameter.

In my simulation, there is no Plastic deformation, so according to my understanding, both Creep and Viscoelasticity should give the same result, but that is not the case.

Can anyone explain the difference between the two and which one I should use?

Note: My material is Anisotropic in nature and loading in 2-2 direction

Thanks in advance

Best Regards
