Hi, I need to run a job in abaqus explicit in several stages because it’s a long analysis, and thought that running the analysis, killing it, and then doing a recover analysis would be the solution. I tried to do a recover analysis with a simple model of a cantilevered beam loaded sinusoidally at its free end, but it aborted with an error. What did I do wrong? What is the right way to perform a recover analysis in abaqus explicit? The steps I took to do the recover analysis are the following:
- I created a model (named S_X-1) in abaqus explicit with a single explicit dynamics step (named DYN_EXP), and set step time to 0.05 s.
- Created a job named S_X-1_1 using the previous model. Ran the job (using job type = Full analysis) and killed it before it completed.
- Edited job S_X-1_1 by changing the job type from Full analysis to Recover (Explicit).
- Submitted the job.
The job aborts almost inmediately after submission.
In the job monitor window, the only error message that appears is:
Abaqus/Explicit Analysis exited with an error - Please see the status file for possible error messages if the file exists.
However, the Status file doesn’t give any useful information about what caused the error.
I attach the .inp (as .txt) file of the Full analysis job for your convenience. (you can change the extension to .inp)
I need to solve this quickly, I appreciate any help.
