I am trying to run a two step analysis. in the first step either i use or dont use 

*contact controls, stabilize

*controls, analysis=discontinous

my reaction forces are almost same.

but in the second step it gives a very big difference between the two. 

in this case i am comparing both steps with controls and both without controls.

Why i am running with contact controls is it helps to reduce lot of simulation time.
