I've been learning UEL subroutine for a few month. My final goal is to create a UEL subroutine for my own element. To start with, I successfully duplicated a regular 2-D 4 node quadrilateral element before. However, when I tried to submit the job for my own element, it gives out the following error and aborted:
"Error in job CS_single_att3: The executable /usr/local/abaqus/6.11-2/exec/standard.exe aborted with system error "Illegal floating point operation" (signal 8). Please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files exist. If there are no error messages and you cannot resolve the problem, please run the command "abaqus job=support information=support" to report and save your system information. Use the same command to run Abaqus that you used when the problem occurred. Please contact your local Abaqus support office and send them the input file, the file support.log which you just created, the executable name, and the error code.Job CS_single_att3 aborted due to errors."
I've already verified that the stiffness matrix I got from the subroutine is correct. I'm confused and don't know where to look at. Now I'm focusing on the lines for strain&stress, haven't got any luck yet.
None of the .dat, .msn and .sta files is giving detailed information about the error. I did a little research on line, someone say it's because "Fortran encounters a division by zero", but I still don't know why. Where I should look at? Is there something wrong with the stress and strain calculation?
