Hi all,
I model cold rolling using ABAQUS/Standard via static analysis. I am just wondering about how the displacements are advanced in time? I know in explicit a central time difference is used to relate accelerations to velocities and then velocities to displacements. Of course I know that accelerations and velocities aren't directly available in static analyses, and I know that the Newton Raphson method is used to solve the equations iteratively in implicit, but once convergence is reached at the end of a time increment, how does ABAQUS evaluate the displacement at the beginning of the next time increment?
I think the answer is in the manual under:
Abaqs
Theory
Nonlinear solution methods
but I just want to know if I am barking up the right tree.
Thanks
