Thermo Mechanical Simulation in Abaqus

Hi,

To predict the force required to eject the Cast from Die

Firstly, Iam performing the casting simulation in commercial software, then extracting the initial and final temperatures.

In Abaqus model i had modelled Cast and Die then Surface to Surface contact interface is defined.

Then assigned the initial temperature as a initial predefined field in abaqus.

Step1: I had defined final temperatures in predefined field and ran the simulation with assigning coeffiecient of thermal expansion in material database and Elastic modulus also varied with respect to temperature. Here my output is contact pressure.( Static Step)

Step2: Assigned Displacement boundary condition to the cast to release from Die with coefficient of friction 0.5, and extracted the force required to eject the die. Plastic data of cast and Die mentioned in Material properties.

Step3: Removed the displacement boundary conditions of the Cast. and suppresed the contact, to check the warpage of the cast.

Final Objective is to predict the warpage(permanent defromation) in cast after ejection.

Can any one please review the method and let me know your valuable feedback.

Note: Iam not using Heat Transfer or Coupled temperature displacemt module and the element type is 3D stress
