The selection of Displacement control vs. Force control in Abaqus/Explicit analysis.

Hi everyone,

Can somebody give me suggestions or share some experiences about selecting Displacement control and Force control in Abaqus/Explicit?

I used to work on Abaqus/Standard and it based on Newton-Raphson algorithms. Hence it can't cope to nonlinear problem due to it's difficulty to capture the displacement drop-down area when Force control is applied. According to this concept, Displacement control should be used to manipulate nonlinear problem in Abaqus/Standard.

Not so familiar with Abaqus/Explicit, who can tell me what's the difference between Displacement control and Force control in Abaqus/Explcit? As I knew Explicit is based on Central Difference Method (CDM), so it has no problem to capture displacement drop-down area like Standard. Anything need to be considered when I choose which control method to use? Like strain rate of material is important.
