Staircase mesh issues using metal thin panel

Hello,

I am simulating an alumina chamber whose inner surface is Titanium coated (nm-um thickness), using transient solver (HEX meshes). I modeled the coating using a thin panel (2D sheet geometry).

In principle, no other metallic solid is present in the chamber inner surface, in contact with the coating. However, the software generates staircase PEC meshes on the inner surface, altering EM field distribution.

Anyone who has already experienced this problem or could provide any feedback?

Thank you in advance
